Dangerous Minds

Eric | December 17, 2005

President Bush went on the air today to defend his ruling allowing the NSA to eavesdrop on people in the United States.

From the address:

“Since [9-11], America’s law enforcement personnel have used [the Patriot Act] to prosecute terrorist operatives and supporters, and to break up terrorist cells in New York, Oregon, Virginia, California, Texas and Ohio. The Patriot Act has accomplished exactly what it was designed to do: it has protected American liberty and saved American lives.”

Its a good thing too, because a student at UMass-Dartmouth was recently caught red handed requesting a copy of the Little Red Book for a “research paper”. The rest of us know the truth! He was going to read that little red book and plot in his parents basement to become……..A COMMUNIST!!!!

Besides, its not like the resources expended to threaten and intimidate a college student would have been better spent on any other criminal cause or investigation. Its not like anyone else could benefit from the money wasted on this pathetic excuse of an “investigation“.

Lets ALL band together and stop these eeeeeeeeeeevil books from poisioning the mind, corrupting the soul and stopping the Nation from winning the war……………ON TERROR!!!!!

Its a good thing, I think, that the Patriot Act was voted down by the Senate recently. The Patriot Act was quite successful at reducing checks and balances that prevent abuse of power. Also, the Act has not demonstrated its effectiveness in catching and prosecuting terrorists. All it has managed to do, is consume resources chasing down college students writing papers on communism. I bet he’ll think twice the next time he tries to do any serious scholarship!

Rember folks:
