It’s been a while, ya?

With the rush of graduating, working a job, getting laid off, and finding a new job there hasn’t been much time for blogging.
I’m glad to say, that I’m back!
Well, it certainly has been a while!
Since my last post, I finished school, got a nice job and am dealing with 2 hours of commuting each day.
A word of advice for those still in school: watch what you post online. There have been stories in the media about myspace and to a lesser extent Facebook. Students should be aware the online community is anything but isolated. There have been many cases of students being denied jobs because of posts they have made on the internet. Even after you graduate, be careful what you write. Your boss may not like it and act accordingly.
As far as my job goes, I will be vague on the details. I will say that I am a manufacturing engineer. This means that when a client brings a product, I have to figure out how to efficiently assemble it in mass quantities.
I have airshow pictures and Florida pictures to post that will appear shortly.
I must admit, politics has taken a bit of a toll on me. I will probably only write about political issues that cause a big fuss. The rest of this site will be about photography, travel, technology and pop culture – things that are much more fun!
In the past I have considered creating a forum for students to post about anything from class surveys/professor reviews to current University events. It would have its own domain name and run from my server here.
If you would like to help, drop me an email.
Here are more controversial “Muhammad” cartoons. Click below to see them all in a single strip.
I’m seriously considering producing some of my own. It’s easy to caricature people who make themselves in bigger and bigger cartoons every day of the week. So…if I can get a drawing scanned every week, I will post one per week.
Note that the image is very large, and may take some time to load.

My stats manager keeps track of what search phrases lead web users to my site. Lets take a look at my to see what people got out of me this past year:
People searching for the words in my domain name generated 91.3% of the non-robot hits to my site.
People searching for information on Brent Machado, Benjamin Aurich or Emily Apatov generated 1.8% of my traffic.
Searches for information related to NSA wiretapping generated 2.2% of traffic, while searches related to Joe Wilson and Cindy Sheehan produced about 2% of my traffic.
The rest was junk.
My new years resolutions (tho a bit late) are as follows:
So I’m in hell as far as work is concerned. I will post my NYC 2005 pictures as soon as possible.
And my cooking blows like Big Ben…..anyone want to volunteer to take over?
Meanwhile, a priest must prove that Christ exists.
You can now whine at me in real time, on AOL Instant Messenger at ericdared2000. Also, you may reach me by email at ericdared -at- gmail.com or any user at this domain (ericthered.net). As always, I look forward to hearing from my readers.
There is a debate over academic freedom waging over my “Ivory Towers of Mud” article. Take a look and get involved.
Well, I’m finally done with this semesters exams…..now begins the awfully suspenseful period of waiting for final grades to post. Who would have thought that showering an brushing teeth could feel so good?!
Over the next couple of weeks, here are some things for readers to look forward to (no particular order):
The Let’s Bring ‘Em Home project is still $7,004.15 $3,613.55 (as of 8:30 pm today) short of meeting its goal. LBEH supporters contributed over $45,000 towards providing plane tickets to US troops so they can spend the upcoming holidays with their families.
Please support our troops in the best way possible, consider donating.
